Over the years, PCC is proud to have been recognized for our commitment to sustainability, our community and environment, and quality retailing.

King County Board for Developmental Disabilities — "2008 King County Employer of the Year"
This award recognized PCC’s commitment to community and diversity, as demonstrated through employment of individuals with disabilities at its stores and business office. PCC employs 15 developmentally disabled adults in various positions.

Supermarket News — "Sustainability Excellence"
PCC was selected to receive the first-ever Sustainability Excellence Award (independent retailer category) in recognition of its long-standing triple-bottom line approach to business, based on practices that respect and appreciate both natural and human resources. Supermarket News is the only nationally circulated weekly trade magazine for the food distribution industry.

King County (WA) Solid Waste Division — "Best Workplace for Recycling"
PCC was one of 50 King County businesses and organizations to be awarded the title of “2008 Best Workplace for Recycling.” The award was given to companies that have shown leadership and commitment to making recycling and other waste reduction practices part of routine business operations.

NW Source People’s Picks — “Eco-friendly store”
PCC was also a finalist in this award program’s Grocery/Wine shop category. PCC Fremont was singled out as an “Editors’ Pick” in the Gourmet Shops and Grocery Stores category. Award winners were determined by votes cast by visitors to the NW Source Web site, sponsored by The Seattle Times Co.

Washington CEO Magazine — Green Washington Award
PCC was runner-up in the retail category of this state-wide award program and was recognized for efforts “to address sustainability in the workplace, in the community and in the hearts and minds of employees and customers.”
